Fujifilm Finepix HS20 EXR Review

For the complete Fujifilm Finepix HS20 EXR review, go to www.infosyncworld.com Fujifilm is back at it again with a new flagship Super Zoom digital camera, and we got a chance to flog it all day and night. The Fujifilm Finepix HS20 EXR is the successor to last year's Finepix HS10—a camera that left us with conflicted emotions. The pomp and circumstance engulfing the new Fujifim Finepix HS20 EXR is its—yes, you guessed it—brand new 16-megapixel EXR CMOS sensor. That means we get Fujifilm's EXR shooting technology merged with a Backside Illuminated Sensor, and image and video quality becomes the hot topic of this review. Not only did Fujifilm cram a new sensor into the Finepix HS20 EXR, but the camera now offers SDXC card support, a higher 12800 ISO cap, and more pixels in the LCD. That's about it, compared to last year's Finepix HS10. Therefore, Fujifilm did not improve upon our suggestions riddled throughout the Finepix HS10 review, so many of our shooting-oriented gripes were relived yet a second time. The Fujifilm Finepix HS20 EXR is an odd duck, so take a leap into the pond, shall we?

29 Foot Tall Launched K'nex Roller Coaster!

This is the tallest outdoor, freestanding K'nex roller coaster in the world! It's modelled after Kingda Ka and Top Thrill Dragster. It stands at 28 feet, 8 inches tall. It uses a 15, seven inch long rubber bands to launch the car up to the top. This project took about a month of planning and building and used about 20000-30000 pieces. The total length of the track is around 100-110 feet long. It was built inside my house in small sections, and then once completed, moved outside and completely assembled in approximately 6 hours. I only used a 6 foot step ladder to assemble it. A 20 foot triangular shaped tower was assembled horizontally on the ground and then carefully tipped up vertically with the help of some small cables. Then the tower was gently lifted 3 feet at a time (with help of course) and new 3 foot sections were connected to the bottom until it reached 28 feet, 8 inches high. The tower was getting real heavy by the time the last section was added. Some K'nex pieces began to snap under the weight, so it was necessary to substitute a large number of black carbon K'nex rods (expensive) at the bottom of the tower. After the video was shot, the whole thing was taken down just as the sun was setting. It was a sunny day with no rain. There were a few small gusts of wind in the afternoon which caused the tower to sway a bit, but not too badly. While taking it down, some K'nex pieces broke and the whole thing toppled sideways over our cedar hedge into the neighbours ...

NYC 1983 and 1986 original footage

In 1983 and 1986 I filmed some scenes on the touristic places like Broadway, Time Square, Staten Island Ferries and Central Park, not spectacular, but a good feeling for the 80s in NYC. In 1983 I came to NYC for first time and filmed with my Bolex spring mechanism motor camera, no scene able more than 22 seconds, at some Kodak and Fuji 30m rolls of 16mm films. In 1986 at my second visit I was using a big ARRIFLEX ST 16mm camera with better lenses and a integrated light meter. Both footage ist scanned in the year of origin smart analog to 2" Ampex tape, later in the 90s copied to BETA analog and later to BETA digital, at least to a mpeg file in my computer. The sound was recorded with a SONY WM-D6C in Dolby C. Thank you to Judy for telecine & color correction and Marion for the original sound recording. Two details: the countdown on the Fuji neon is for the Los Angeles Olympics and the movie recording on Broadway is for a commercial for the new Musical "Chorus Line". Some street scenes are mixed with radio edits from original 1986 New York radio station recordings. Dont miss my other NYC original footage in my channel, a view from the roof of the WTC in 1986, a look in the subway stations 42nd St and Time Square and a visit at the Chinese market in China Town NYC,

Making of Canon L Series 500mm F4L IS USM. Part 2 of 3 in the production of expensive camera gear. L series is Canon's Premium lens line featuring fluorite lenses. IS refers to Image Stabilzation build into the lens, and USM refers to Ultrasonic Motor drive that makes focusing faster than older systems. Timelapse made Cheap and Easy with a Webcam

A quick rundown to doing timelapse with a webcam. Last year I went down the digital single lens reflex path (DSLR) and it worked, but was expensive and not terribly satisfactory. It wasnt a total disaster as the camera is quite good for astro stuff. This year I went down the webcam and a netbook path and its worked out very well. The netbook can run the rig for the best part of a day (7hrs ish). Its all in probably smaller and lighter than the DSLR and MUCH cheaper. Further the files are written straight to the HD so there is no worries about filling up memory cards etc. There are many intermediate routes. Basically using a point n press which has some time lapse capability. These has some advantages and disadvantages from both sides. Battery life is still an issue. Memory cards similarly. Shutter is not an issue, nor is size. Personally Ive been really impressed with the webcam. This webcam only shoots in 4x3 but apparently widescreen webcams are coming out soon!

How to Make a TV Commercial - Canon 7D - Documentary Video Production

www.kershmedia.co.uk How to make a TV Commercial -- Our video shows you the behind the scenes of making a TV advert and gives you an insight into the role of Director and DOP, as well as how lighting, sound and the canon 7D are used to create a filmic look. This TV commercial was made for an online dating agency, Sugardaddie.com who came to Kersh Media with the idea of making a TV commercial with a specific, filmic look. The director of photography for this shoot was Phil Bloom, who is known for his sleek, high definition and filmic style. The shoot took place at The Swan restaurant in West Malling, Kent and it was the perfect romantic location for two people to meet -- of course we helped create the mood! We wanted to create the atmosphere of a bar in the evening so we first needed to black out all the windows. We wanted to go for a low key lighting set up using the minimum of lighting -- most of the lighting set ups were simply one soft box cool light supplemented by the bar's ambient and practical lighting. We used candles in the shots to create points of interest in the frame, giving it a romantic glow. Because we wanted a specific look with a narrow depth of field, we asked Phil Bloom to shoot on the Canon 7D DSLR. It's high definition filming! Shooting on the Canon 7D meant we could achieve high definition, filmic look with a shallow depth of field. The Canon 7D is designed as a still camera which allows the DOP and Director to be very flexible with the lenses. If ...

Megadeth - Five Magics (cover)

I've got a few requests for this one, so I learned it in a few days just to record it. But I'd have learned it anyway, since this song might well be one of Megadeth's most solo-dense. Both Mustaine and Friedman has some of their best solos in this song. And it's got some very great riffs too. Since I've recently learned how to avoid my camera issue (for more information, see earlier videos), this is probably my best cover thus far, almost perfect in timing and synchronization. You'll better enjoy it! ;) Recorded the 22nd - 23rd of July 2009 using a Pentax Optio M30 regular digital camera, audio recorded with an iAudio 7. Edited using Magix Music Maker 10 Deluxe and streamed as a 640x480 resolution Windows Media Video with 25 fps. Guitar: Washburn X16 G13 (with EMG 81/85). Amplifier: Peavey 6505+ and an Ashdown Peacemaker 412A cabinet with Celestion G12E-50 speakers. Speed Painting Photorealism... Again.

Another digital painting done from scratch in photoshop using Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. Artwork is completely freehand drawn, with reference photo set off to the side for glancing at. No tracing... ;-) Actual time to do pic was about 3 and a half hours. UPDATE: For the people that think this is fake-- simply do a little research. It's as easy as clicking on my username to see the list of all of my other videos. There you will find an array of different subjects and different mediums... Including photo real techniques with real paint. It it's a pretty reasonable conclusion that if I can do the things I do with real paint-- why would I feel the need or insecurity to fake it with the "less impressive" digital mediums? Why waste my time? You could also consider the efforts it would take to fake such a thing- consider the layering of the shadows and gradients... Look at how carefully it is done in these vids. There is a visible build-up of LAYERS of tones shadows and colors. To fake something like that would take so much effort, why would a guy who can do all of the other OBVIOUS traditional medium paintings on the same channel waste his time? TO MANY PEOPLE ASK: Why "photorealism"? Why not just use a camera? The answer is simple. I've made the point many times in my replies, comments and descriptions. But I'll make it clearer here for those who do not understand: It's for practice. It is the same as a musician practicing scales, so that he can write better songs...Or even a ...

Sony DSC-HX9V compact digital camera unboxing and quick review part 1 - no background music

I got the Sony Cybershot DSC-HX9V digital compact travel camera. In this video I unbox it and show you some detailed close-up shots of the camera itself. Watch the sample video footage at: www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com www.youtube.com Part 2 will show you the full review and I'll upload samples of the video so you can judge quality for yourself. That will be up in a couple of days. Initial impressions of the Sony are that it feels incredibly well built and balanced and the new screen is extremely clear. The macro facility is incredible - I just took some test shots, hand-held by the light of a single bulb and they came out really well. Colour accuracy wasn't 100%, but you'll see that on the next video. I'll be uploading those test images with the review video. If you guys have any questions, please leave a comment and ask away. I'll be happy to try to answer your questions for you.

Refurbishing my Sony DSC-T1 Digital Camera

Refurbishing my Sony DSC-T1 camera from one I bought on ebay that had a new CCD put in it. Mine has been a great camera, taken over 18000 pics and now the motherboard, AND ccd were going out in it. This is my DSC-T1's new lease on life, as far as the old guts, i put them back in the donor camera and it works the same as before, like on its last legs.

GoPro HD HERO camera: Base Jump Movie

Learn about the new GoPro HD HERO® camera at gopro.com. GoPro's HD Helmet HERO® camera shoots with such clarity you may develop a visceral need to strap on a parachute and follow Neil Amonson off a cliff. Shot in 960p (1280x960) HD resolution. 960p is a 4 aspect ratio, which means you're going to see 25% more top/bottom viewing area than you do with 16:9 widescreen aspect ratios. Both are killer, but in the case of this base jumping movie, 960p shows more of the cliff as its passing underneath, and more of the scenery above and below. 16:9 would look good, too...just not as immersive.

Battery Grip For Canon EOS 350d / 400d Digital Rebel XT / XTI - The Opteka BGRXT

www.robnunnphoto.com Picked up the Opteka BGRXT battery grip for my Canon EOS 350d / DIgital Rebel XT a few days ago. (This grip also fits the 400d / Rebel XTi). The grip takes two of the NB-2L batteries, or 6 AA's, depending on which battery insert you use. It also adds controls for shooting in portrait orientation - a second shutter button, control wheel, exposure compensation button, AF point selector and exposure lock button. The Opteka grip feels sturdy, well made, and it matches my 350d well. If you shoot hand-held a lot, then a grip is a must. It makes the camera feel more substantial, giving you a stable platform from which to shoot. Recommended! Cheers, Rob.

Samsung MV800 Flip Out Camera: Hands On

Samsung MV800 Camera Will Make You Flip Out!!! Remember Samsung's DualView compact digital cameras that featured miniature LCD panels embedded in the front of the camera for taking accurate self-portrait shots? Today, Samsung has taken that philosophy to the next level with the introduction of the MV800. The Samsung MV800 is equipped with a 3.0" touch-screen Flip-out LCD display. However, this is not your typical horizontally revolving LCD--the Samsung MV800′s LCD flips up vertically a full 180 degrees to give shooters a 3-inch LCD view right above the lens for the ultimate self portraits. The Samsung MV800 will bring on a 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch CCD sensor, 26mm wide 5x optical zoom Schneider-KREUZNACH lens and offer full touchscreen LCD operation. 720p HD video recording in the MPEG-4 format is noted in the release, and I assume it will be 30fps. Fun-filled features riddle the MV800, starting with Live Panorama, which enables the shooter to preview the shot For more tech goodness, check us out at: http:///www.technobuffalo.com Follow Us on Twitter: www.twitter.com Like Us on Facebook: www.facebook.com Check Us Out on Google + bit.ly

Custom White Balance (Photography in 90 Seconds)

I've written a new eBook called "A Concise Introduction to Photography": ethanwilding.com Custom White Balance is the process of setting the neutral gray reference point manually, rather than relying on your camera's Auto White balance (which typically only approximates neutral grey.) Custom WB is an important step for anyone who is serious about achieving accurate colours in their images. If you are shooting RAW single images, then you can just take a picture of a spectrally neutral grey card and set the WB in post-processing. However, if you are shooting JPEG or Video, it is important that you set the custom WB in your camera before shooting. How you do this is dependent on your particular camera, but it will involve taking a picture of the gray card (fill the frame as much as you can) and then telling the camera (via its menu system) to use that image as the neutral reference point. You will have to read your camera's instruction manual for the particular details of those simple steps. Now, once you have the Custom WB set, you will likely have to manually rotate the WB dial or indicator from AutoWB to Custom WB. (Again, the specifics will vary for each camera manufacturer. Once you have that stuff set, you are good to go shoot your videos without having to worry about trying to do onerous colour correction in post-processing. Good luck!

Sony NEX-5 Camera Video Review

A video review of the Sony NEX-5 interchangeable lens camera. Read our full review at: www.mobiletechreview.com This is Sony's first ILC camera and it's currently the smallest ILC camera and smallest camera with an APS-C sized (standard DSLR sized) sensor. It comes with the Olympus PEN cameras among others, and it's slightly more affordable. The Sony has a 14 megapixel CMOS sensor and it can shoot both photos and video up to AVCHD 1080p res at 60fps with stereo audio. It's available with two kit lens options and we look at both: a 16mm f2.8 and a 3x zoom 18-55mm f3.5-5.6. If you want the quality of a DSLR but the simplicity and light weight of a point and shoot, the NEX-5 and it's brother then NEX-3 are worth a look. The NEX5 has a metal body and lens mount and comes with a screw-on flash.
