OK, Ive tried to do one of these fancy show your record player while playing the precious disc and present a fairly good sound at the same time-video. Since I dont have any video camera with a good mic, Im using my digital cams video function. So Ive put together the video of the record playing while using the sound of a transfer of the record. So the sound isnt live although it is the same record and the same record player. The record player is as you probably can see a Lenco L78 (with a built-in receiver and the whole thing was called Lenco 950) and its connected to a Onkyo CD receiver of more recent date. So this is a record that was recorded eh sometime probably 1946, since the beloved and maybe not that trustworthy source Wikipedia claims that 1946 was the year pianist Signorelli recorded with trumpet player Napoleon. I havent really been able to find the exact recording date of this beauty, but Im sure someone out there on Youtube with more knowledge than yours truly will tell me. Still, it is a jazz revival recording some old legendary jazz stars of the 1920s getting together again playing one of the Original Dixieland Jazz Bands hits. Drummer Tony Spargo (or Sparbaro or whatever) of course as you know played the drums in the above mentioned jazz band, and pianist Frank Signorelli, who played with ODJB briefly but is more famous for forming the Original Memphis Five together with Phil Napoleon. Trombonist Vernon Brown seems to have played with lots of jazz legends ...
